None specifically related to these people, though we do offer a full 'significant individuals' / ‘famous people’ day based on two other person profiles.  For example, you could have two half days from either a Neil Armstrong 'spaceman' experience; a Roman Britain Boudica workshop; a Winston Churchill 'Blitz' workshop or a Queen Victoria Inventions workshop – more details of all these workshops at www.balestraschoolworkshops.co.uk.

Diary entries for both persons at key moments in their life / letters from each person / story from the point of view of someone watching key moments in their lives / small non-fiction fact cards (similar to enclosed profiles) / A letter of support from you as a person at the time to them.

 

ROLE-PLAY AREA SUGGESTIONS:

None applicable due to the serious nature of the human rights issues.

 

ART / DT:

Design posters to support both women / make placards from the time / use these as props in an assembly.

 

GEOGRAPHY:  

Find the home countries of both women on a map / find out which countries make up the United Kingdom and which states make up the USA.
